Default Petition for cutscenes: invincible groups/allies

I have read and replied to several threads regarding the desire for elder players to skip cutscenes by majority rule. While at times I too want nothing more than to “get it over with” I’m still fresh enough to this game to remember my first time through the game.

I got to watch about half the cutscenes, and it was only on my fourth and fifth time through that I managed to watch them all. This was no ones fault but my own. I kept pressing “skip” because everyone else did. But it made me feel a little cheated, that the group would burn me because I wanted to know why Rurik looked like ghost rider at the end.

In all there are only 2 reasons why people have a valid reason why cutscenes should be skipped. One of them is an easy fix:

First: their PC becomes laggy after running the full scene. This happens over time with the game entire and is a user side issue more than it is Anet. Restart your PC before you enter a long mission and your PC should not become overloaded and laggy.

Second: Sometimes, health is a factor. People die while watching cutscenes and that’s a fact. Either from poison and other conditions, random mobs that follow the group, or a loss of minion health that makes MMs rage quit, cutscenes are a threat to builds and groups because of the time it takes to watch them.

The solution is simple. Anet should tweek the code so that health is suspended during the watching of cutscenes. Rezzed players can return at full health, as they always have, but any statuses or other degen stops. While this includes health regen as well, I consider it a fair trade to prevent people from ragequitting a group halfway through because their minions start to plop, they have 15DP they shouldn’t have gotten, or the “Dingo ate my baby” syndrome of some TKs who are actually the ones refusing to skip because they want to see you or your minions die so they can feign outrage and quit.

I hope people will consider this option and sign this petition. I think everyone wins here.

I thought exactly the same, sample pics attached.

I think this would help alot, specialy regarding minions, dont ya hate it when
they all flop just because of one silly little snot nosed aggro king wanted to
be the one who made your minions die in the cut scene!

I've had one or two people blatantly say that they wanted to see them crumble.

And for anyone who has done elona reach a few times knows that the
minotours near the first ghostly hero scene can be a little daunting
especialy when they happened to follow you right up the the end
and start pounding on the ghost!

If you've read several posts on this topic, then you've probably read my replies. You know how I feel about it.

This is especially relevant now that Factions is just around the corner. I won't be skipping those scenes my first time through.

Since they won't implement an auto skip feature this will have to do. It's still annoying but at least this way it won't be deadly.

You, sir, win many intarnets for putting this out in a thread. My post suggesting to freeze the game got lost in the big thread D;

Don't forget bonders that are trying to deal with a -7 energy regen. If this were implemented, it would make things much easier (ever try to re-bond after the enchantments drop? Awful.)

Even better, if they gave us the ability to go back and watch the scenes by talking to the NPC after the mission is complete. Remember The Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood from the FPE?
